Final Raya Shopping

knowing that i was feeling down because of yesterdays events, mother was a kind soul and brought me shoe-shopping, yet again, and bag shopping. it did cheer me up abit and i'm happy that mother was attuned to my feelings because she knows like father, i, too have a very strong affinity for animals.

since i'm a no frills kind of shopper, i was done picking out the shoe, trying it out and buying it in 15 mins. and choosing the bag took less than ten only because i had sister's help.

mother also bought another shoe for Hari Raya, so basically me and mother have three pairs of shoes each. sister didn't want to buy any because she doesn't want to wear heels this year.

this was last year's strappy heels, lucky me they're still in good condition. :)

this is one of the new heels, they're identical to one of my mother's, a tiny little fact i forgot when i was purchasing it. pffft!

this is the one i bought just now, i so love the floral detail on it's skin.

i have three heels because, last year's Raya heels are still looking good and wearable. and the new heels are nice too. and they can be worn casually too. so it's a win-win sitch. usually i'd wear heels for special occasions but since i'm more fashion inclined and knowledgeable now i've already found outfits i can wear that shows off the heels at their best.

oh yeah,
i bought a wristlet for this year's raya, last years was a pink clutch bag with floral details. it's a simple little black coloured thing. nothing fancy for this year.

it's simple ain't it, btw, i have a thing for Perllini bags because they are affordable and they come in many youthful designs.

In Loving Memory, Lucky

today saw the passing of one of my cats.
he was definitely loved by all even babybro, who liked to disturb him.
he was a special cat for my father, and father had strong bonds with Lucky.
and this is the second time i saw first hand, tears rolling down father's cheeks.
the first time being the day one of our kittens fell to his death. that was pure accident which no one would have foreseen.
the only link that these two cats shared was that they passed on during the fasting month.
i always thought father was invincible, he was strong. after all he is the pillar of my family.
seeing him cry over an animal he so clearly cared for no less, made my heart ache for him, because only i know how much time and energy he spent every single day making sure the cats living quarters were clean and made sure that he changed their water everyday.

Lucky lived with us for 6 years or so, which makes him 42yrs old in cat years.
Father told me that for every 10 years that a cat lives with you, you multiply that by 7.
so he passed on due to ill-health and age.

there's nothing else i can think to say here.

Lucky is so gonna be missed. :(

F1 Grand Prix : 1st Night Race (pt 3)

the Formula 1 race has finally ended. it was an entertaining race to watch. there were few crashes during the duration of the race. that resulting in the safety cars being called in. which also caused the race positions of the drivers to go topsy turvy.

congratulations to Fernando Alonso for winning the Singapore Grand Prix. and i thought he couldnt compete. only because i thought that the top ten are the ones who were allowed to compete. babybro cleared that up for me, saying that the qualification rounds were to determine the position they would be in during race day or for this instance race night.

the unlucky few to crash were Piquet for team Renault, Trulli for idk which team and Raikkonen for Ferrari who crashed in the final phases of the race. Ferrari was the biggest upset by far for the night. Massa, the race fave besides Hamilton, had an accident occuring in the pitstop. and he lost too much valuable time due to that and he fell way behind the race pack. so Ferrari didn't gain any race points for the race in Singapore.

Hamilton managed to finish a graceful third place in this race, which wouldn't make any dfference because he is already so way up high on the list. and he has alot of points, even if he didn't win first place for this grand prix he is still top.

there were also a few who had to drop out due to fuelage problems or lack thereof. Barichello and Webber had to drop out because of those reasons.

so in all the Singapore Grand Prix was a success based on the words by our PM Lee Hsien Loong.

again i wish they would bring in the MOTO GP next. * crosses finger *

F1 Grand Prix : 1st Night Race (pt 2)

I watched the race qualification sessions just now and surprisingly there were many upsets.

some drivers crashed, some were still confused, like how Felippe Massa took a wrong turn in one of the turns in the circuit. and some, due to mechanical failures. it was sad that Fernando Alonso had to be disqualified because his 'car' has some mechanical failure. F. Alonso is a great driver besides the all time great, Michael Schumacher. the race would be less exciting for me.

Lewis Hamilton, the fave for most in this race. performed poorly, in my opinion, during the qualification races. luckily he pulled through to a position in the top ten.

Drivers like Mark Webber and David Coulthard were not in the top ten. i don't know if they can still race tomorrow night or only the top ten are able to race. like i said i'm still a bit clueless about the workings of the F1 Grand Prix. it would be a waste if they aren't able to compete.

besides the drivers, did you notice how the street circuit is 'wrapped' around S'pore's modern and historical monuments. it shows the conscious effort that the government or whoever it was that set up the race track to sort of advertise Singapore.

seeing that F1 has it's inaugural night race here in Singapore, would the government bring in the Moto Gp next? I wish they would. it will surely bring in the tourists.

Singapore Grand Prix. Singapore Moto GP. sounds nice right? hehe

F1 Grand Prix : 1st Night Race

so the race weekend commences today.after weeks of the media hype about the night race. it's finally here. alot of race enthusiasts will already be flocking the venue in droves, i imagine. those would be the people with the tickets and those who prolly will ride the Flyer to get a glimpse of the race track.

the Spore Tourism Authority, planned a lot of things prior to the start of the race. The Flyer has an open bar ride theme going on for the three days of the races. they have set up bars in each of the flying capsules so as to create some sort of atmosphere. with all these going on, i wonder how the sales of the malls in the race vicinity are doing.

and there are the people who scored tickets to the race events. oh-how-i-envy-them!

but, luckily they are screening the races on the telly. so most of us won't be missing out on the so called adrenaline pumped action.

then there are the F1 drivers and the F1 teams. from Lewis Carl Hamilton ( he's the sex....*drools* ) for McLaren to Felippe Massa for Ferrari. there are alot of teams competing for this inaugural race. and i have it that the drivers aren't very tall people because they need to fit in the car's cockpit and for that the smaller you are the better.

so basically, small-sized people are as cool as the tall people. hehe

so I'm done today, I'm don't' have that much idea about the Grand Prix and how it works but i know the cars are super fast, going at 300km/h and they are super loud too. and the drivers are all sinfully good looking especially Lewis Carl Hamilton.

Super Import Nights 08

Super Import Nights is most definitely made more for the car enthusiast than someone like me. sure there were more than enough souped-up rides for babybro to enjoy and admire. it was a testosterone fueled event. there were only a handful of ladies there, that is not counting the models and the import models from america and asia.

majority of the visitors brought along DSLR cams, compared to them, my digicam looked like a baby. pffftt!!

the one thing that suprised me was the presence of three bikes, for an exhibition that showcased cars, mostly, it was a surprise. there was a Harley, a small bike made for children and a sports bike which was tastefully done. it was a piece of artwork to me.

it's something ain't it. i'd deck out my bike like this, if i had a bike right now.

this is the tiny bike, it's really cute and i actually wanted to sit on it but was scared that the bike would suddenly give way. erggh!!

as i said, babybro was the photographer for that day and he did take a lot of pictures.

from brandnames such as,

to decked out sound systems,

and cars that have been turned into works of art,

babybro also took pictures of car rims, sports cars and cars that were just plain mean.

amazingly, babybro took pictures of the engines too. he explained to me what their power was and i conveniently forgot them.

and of course there was pictures taken with our faves.

*feelingfeelingdriverlah*

some of the car's interiors were decked out too,

there are more pictures but i don't have the energy to edit and post them all. so i hope you enjoyed reading and viewing the pictures.( ",)

the exhibition wasn't really that great, for me since i have no such affinity for cars. its good for those who have such affinity for cars and those who love to take pictures of cars i guess. since there were a lot of male photographers running around with their DSLR's, like little children in a candy store, taking pictures of the cars and the import models.

talking about import models. there was amajor difference between the American import models and the Asian import models. for one thing, the Asian import models looked so uniform with their similar outfits. while the American import models looked beautifully gorgeous in their own clothes and damn, their bodies were like amazing. regardless they were Americans and they will forever look better than us. pffft!!

well i'm done.

sayonara readers.

updates

went to the Super Import Nights Car exhibition with babybro today. as his advanced birthday treat.

boy, did he enjoy it! he went trigger happy with the camera. so expect lots of pictures. but don't mind the quality, i have only a digital camera. if i'm not wrong brother took a video of the drifting showcase. too bad we were at the wrong place and thus he did not get a clear video of the drifting session. one thing i'll remember is the tunes that they played throughout the exhibition. most of them were club remixes of popular tracks.

i'll update tomorrow. proper update. so, again, expect lots of pictures.

till then.

House of Dereon

This pair of extravagant heels are, well, extravagant aren't they? By House of Dereon. They look like heels I'd wear for my wedding day.

came across them while surfing the net for heels and because i have nothing better to do. ^^'
