another family gathering

since Ramadhan is around the corner, both sides of my family have decided to hold prayer sessions to welcome the fasting month. my paternal side of the family have done theirs last Saturday and i'm happy to say i helped with the food preparations. the prayer session also included praying for my late grandfathers and several other relatives. and tomorrow there'll be another prayer session at my aunt's house on mother's side of the family.

i don't know why but ever since i turned 16, i've never looked forward to a family gathering ever again. there are a few exceptions but i'm just being biased about them.

well anyways, mother said i have to make an appearance regardless. it's not that i loathe my relatives but when they start to talk about stuff it tends to irk me in some ways.

you know adults, when they start to talk, give advice or share their 'experiences' some tend to sound more like bragging and there's a fine line between bragging and actually teaching us something.

i guess i can't really blame them, in a way that's what adults do. i've always been on the receiving end of a unsuspected lecture from a family member and i take it in my stride. i seriously hope that tomorrow noone talks about marriage to me 'cos i swear i'll go crazy if i hear the sentence,
" bile myra nk kahwin?".
